Youth Ministries
SUNDAY SCHOOL: “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14. Such awesome love did Jesus show when He said these words. God says it is our responsibility to share His message of grace and salvation with our children. His Word gives direction and guidance as they grow into our future generation.
Loving Shepherd operates Sunday School classes for children ages 3 to 14 years of age. Classes are held every Sunday morning 9:15 - 10:00 a.m. throughout the school year. A typical lesson includes a Scripture passage and its application to everyday life as well as a class craft or song for the younger children. It also enhances social skills and social interaction. Parents are also welcome and encouraged to join in our Adult Bible Study while the children attend Sunday School.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS): VBS is a week long program held every summer. Our program is open to all children in our community ages 3 to 12 years of age and consists of daily devotions, crafts, and games. The children also have an opportunity to meet new friends and, most importantly, the children learn about God’s love for us in Christ Jesus! The program closes the week with a church service lead in song by the participants of VBS.
VBS is free of charge and operates between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. It is a great way to get to know our neighbors and share our Savior with them.
BOY PIONEERS: Our Lutheran Boy Pioneer group is an adventure in Christian living. Whether they are working on service projects or learning valuable skills, our boys are letting their light shine. Our group meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month during the school year from 6:30 to 8 PM. Another favorite activity is a Day Camp that includes archery and fishing, as well as district camp events.
GIRL PIONEERS: Our Lutheran Girl Pioneer (LGP) objective is to keep girls “Loyal to Christ” and encourage girls in personal development, leadership, and service to others. LGP meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 pm during the school year. All girls 1st grade up to 8th grade are encouraged to attend. Some of the highlights during the year include district bowling and roller-skating, holiday crafts and parties, awards night, and an annual sleepover held at our church.
AREA HIGH SCHOOLS: Loving Shepherd Lutheran Church supports two area Lutheran high schools. Both high schools offer a Christ-centered education that prepares students for success in their post high school coursework and careers.
