Adult Programs
BIBLE CLASS: Bible class is held every Sunday at 9:15 a.m. from the Sunday after Labor Day through the Sunday before Memorial Day. Topics discussed in Bible Class include in-depth studies of Chapters of the Bible, as well as discussions on Scriptural topics relevant to current events. During the summer, special Bible Classes are held in which guest speakers discuss topics such as Creationism and Islam in today's society as well as other pertinent and mainstream topics.
ADULT INSTRUCTION: Adult instruction meets every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. from September to April. Non-members intending to become a member attend class to learn about our core beliefs. Members attend class to strengthen their faith in the truths of God's Word. For more information, please contact our Pastors.
LADIES EVENING GUILD: Evening Guild meetings are held September to May on the fourth Monday of each month, starting at 7:00 pm until about 8:30 pm. Every year our group enjoys many events including a tasting bee, cookie exchange and Christmas auction as well as riveting guest speakers. One of the highlights is the secret sister program, where members exchange names and then remember their sister throughout the year with secret gifts.
MENS & WOMENS SOFTBALL PROGRAMS: Our church has two successful softball programs for both men and women as well as all youth who will be graduating from 8th grade. Our women’s softball begins mid May and ends in July, playing 10 games throughout the season. During the 2009 season our women’s team tied for first! Men’s Softball starts in late April and continues into mid August, ending with a tournament. In 2009, our men’s team finished in 2nd place. Both teams compete against other WELS teams in the metro Milwaukee area.
SENIOR CHOIR: Praise the Lord with our Senior Choir! Choir meets every Thursday evening from 7:45 pm to 9:00 pm September through early May. Our Choir enriches our worship about twice a month with particularly special performances during the two holiest times of the church year: Christmas and Easter. We are blessed to have them perform the Christmas Cantata , held the Sunday before Christmas, as well as solemn hymns on Good Friday and joyous songs of praise on Easter! Choir is open to members of the congregation. The choir is always looking for new voices. We invite you to join them for inspiration and fellowship.
DARTBALL: Another great way to become part of our family is to join this sociable group of men! All confirmed men of the congregation are welcome to join. The sport is founded on the basics of baseball, using 4-inch darts that are thrown underhand toward a target with varying size targets to represent balls and strikes, outs, singles, doubles, triples, and home runs. Teams consist of about 10 men. Loving Shepherd has two teams at this time that play against other Lutheran teams from the Milwaukee area. The season begins in September with one practice, and then continues through March ending with a tournament. Dartball meets every Wednesday evening from 8:00 pm-11:00 pm.
